This question has been asked to many people by many different people. It somehow has a huge impact in someone’s life, not just yours or mine. Now it has a thousand meaning because everyone feels happiness in a different way. If for instance, my life is to be taken as an example, then happiness for me is when I can create a smile in my family, friends, and girlfriends face. I can be happy all the time, but it’s not true happiness. Another thing is that when I get to travel, I feel genuinely happy because I get to experience a new culture and see new places.
Have you ever felt so happy in your life that you believe that everything is possible? Well if you have than that’s great, but those who has not, I’m sure your turn will come up soon. People used to say that cherishing the little things in life is key to happiness, but I disagree. It is in our nature to always be curious, wanting more, and grow as a person. So how can we cherish the little things in life? Of course it would be cruel to compare the social classes that our world is so very interested in. Is it democracy? socialism? capitalism? communism? or is it just people trying to feel superior?
To tell you the truth, I don’t even know the answer myself as I still have many learning to do. With my current age, all I could say is that having an open mind is one the best gifts that my parents taught me. It lets me to absorb everything, whether it’s true or false. We live in a world that is advancing and soon everything that we know as it is will change. There is still time to sit against a tree and gaze at the clouds, stars, or even just a field of grass. Enjoy the earth today, as tomorrow, it all might not be there anymore. Make sure that your life is different everyday. Enjoy every breath and just smile.

Coming home from campus today, I saw a group of people crossing the road and thought “wow, even though the traffic is bad, it’s still dangerous because the motorbikes are still zooming past the sides of the cars.” But then I realized that I was also sitting on my bike. I was also trying to find a way through the maze of cars and that there is no rules anymore in the roads of Jakarta. Pedestrians can’t even walk comfortably in the sidewalk, pollution spreading everywhere from the bus exhaust.
This city is harsh. Living in it makes me wonder what if the government just layed out strict rules about vehicles that travel on Jakarta everyday. Some of these vehicles are not even in the right condition to travel, and if it was the Western countries, these vehicles would be impounded and then destroyed.
Well I’ve lived most of my life in this city, aside from the heat and traffic everything else is magnificent and crazy at the same time.
